Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to support our kitchen in delivering high-quality meals and maintaining a clean, efficient kitchen environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in developing their skills within catering, food preparation, and the hospitality industry. Duties
- Assist with meal preparation and food assembly to ensure timely service
- Basic cooking tasks and ingredient handling
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen surfaces, utensils, and equipment in accordance with food safety standards
- Organise ingredients and supplies to facilitate smooth kitchen operations
- Help with washing, peeling, chopping, and portioning ingredients as required
- Ensure proper storage of food items to prevent contamination or spoilage
- Support serving staff during meal service periods when necessary
- Follow health and safety regulations diligently to uphold hygiene standards
- Occasional ordering (Training and support given)
Skills
- Experience or interest in catering, cooking, or restaurant environments is desirable
- Knowledge of food safety practices and hygiene standards
- Ability to assist with meal and food preparation efficiently
- Good organisational skills to manage multiple tasks within a busy kitchen setting
- Previous kitchen experience is advantageous
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues
- Willingness to learn new techniques and adapt to different roles within the kitchen environment
Hours
Tuesday to Friday 9.30am to 4pm and every second Saturday 8am to 4pm

Pay: £12.71 per hour
