Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Home Manager to oversee the daily operations of a care home specialising in senior care, including dementia and Alzheimer's care. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of residential care home environments, and a compassionate approach to resident wellbeing. The Deputy Home Manager will be responsible for ensuring compliance with care standards, managing staff, and maintaining excellent relationships with residents and their families.
Duties
- Oversee the day-to-day running of the care home, ensuring the highest standards of care are maintained at all times
- Develop, implement, and review personalised care plans tailored to individual resident needs, including dementia and Alzheimer’s care
- Supervise and lead a team of care staff, providing guidance, training, and support to promote professional development and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
- Manage medication administration processes in accordance with legal and organisational policies
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, safeguarding policies, and quality standards within the home
- Foster a warm, welcoming environment for residents, families, and staff
- Coordinate with healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive nursing and medical support as required
- Monitor operational budgets, manage staffing rotas, and optimise resource utilisation
- Lead initiatives for continuous improvement in service delivery and resident satisfaction
Qualifications
- Proven experience in residential care home environments, with specific expertise in senior care and dementia management
- Strong leadership skills with previous supervising or management experience within a care home or similar setting
- Knowledge of care plans development and implementation tailored to residents with complex needs such as Alzheimer’s disease
- Competence in medication administration and understanding of relevant healthcare regulations
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage teams effectively while maintaining attention to detail
- Compassionate approach coupled with strong communication skills to build positive relationships with residents, families, and staff
- Relevant qualifications in residential care are highly desirable; prior experience in dementia or Alzheimer’s care is advantageous
