Level 2 Early Years Practitioner — Working Mums Daycare & Pre-School, East Sheen (SW14)
Full time, 40 hours per week | £27,040 per annum | Level 3 funded and supported
Roebuck House, 284–286 Upper Richmond Road West, East Sheen, London SW14 7JE
Ready for your Level 3? We'll get you there.
We're looking for a Level 2 qualified practitioner to join our team in East Sheen - particularly someone who wants to progress to Level 3 and become a key person in their own right. You'll be supported through your qualification with funded training, protected study time and mentoring from a management team who genuinely enjoy developing people.
About the setting
Working Mums Daycare East Sheen is a modern, purpose-built nursery caring for up to 105 children from three months to five years. We've been part of this community since 2011.
Four age-specific rooms, a sensory room, a dedicated preschool classroom and a roof garden giving children daily outdoor play. An on-site chef prepares fresh, nutritious meals every day. We're the only nursery, school or childminding setting across Richmond and Kingston to have achieved the Healthy Early Years London award, recognised by the local authority and the Mayor of London.
Our team is what makes it work. We still have practitioners who joined us in 2011, 2012 and 2018 - that continuity is what lets children build secure attachments and gives families a consistent experience. Nursery Manager Victoria has led the setting since 2018 and Deputy Manager Katy has been with us since 2020.
What you'll be doing
- Supporting the care, learning and development of children in your room, working alongside experienced key persons
- Planning and delivering play-based activities that follow children's interests
- Contributing to observations and next steps, building towards holding your own key children as you qualify
- Building warm, professional relationships with parents and carers
- Meeting personal care, mealtime and wellbeing needs with patience and consistency
- Keeping children safe — safeguarding, health and safety, and record keeping
What we're looking for
- A Level 2 qualification in Early Years Education and Childcare (or equivalent)
- Genuine warmth with children and the patience the job asks for
- Reliability, a willingness to learn and a positive attitude in a team
- An interest in progressing to Level 3 — you don't need experience beyond your qualification, we'll build the rest with you
- A good understanding of safeguarding, or the willingness to develop one quickly
What we offer
- Fully funded Level 3 qualification with study support and mentoring
- Ongoing training and development across the wider group
- 95% Childcare discount
Pay: Up to £27,040.00 per year
