Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and physically fit Driver/Labourer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering goods and assisting with other team members, ensuring smooth operations across various sites. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with experience in commercial driving and labouring to develop their skills within a dynamic environment. The position involves both driving duties and manual labour, requiring flexibility, strength, and good communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate company vans, to deliver goods to clients and Teams.
- Load and unload items, often involving heavy lifting, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage or injury.
- Assist with warehouse organisation, stock management, and general labouring tasks as required.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and communicate effectively with team members regarding schedules or issues.
- Follow all health and safety procedures during driving and manual tasks to ensure a safe working environment.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after journeys to ensure roadworthiness.
- Collaborate with colleagues to coordinate deliveries and optimise routes for efficiency.
Skills
- Proven experience with a clean driving record.
- Valid driver licence.
- Experience in commercial driving, including large vans.
- Warehouse experience is beneficial, particularly in handling stock and heavy lifting.
- Strong physical strength for manual labour tasks involving heavy lifting or moving items.
- Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and clients.
- Organised approach to work with the ability to follow schedules accurately. This role is ideal for motivated individuals seeking a varied position that combines driving responsibilities with hands-on labouring tasks within a supportive team environment.
Pay: £25,000.00-£26,000.00 per year
