A unique and exciting opportunity has arisen to join our small friendly team at the Southwoods Nursing Home. We are looking for a activities co-ordinator assistant to join our home whom is keen and eager to progress. We are a nursing home supporting adults with mental illness. We pride ourselves in helping people to stay well and live a fulfilling life.

Are you a creative, caring and enthusiastic person who enjoys bringing smiles to others? Southwoods Nursing Home is looking for an Activities Coordinator to join our friendly team for 16 hours per week.
This is a rewarding opportunity to help create meaningful experiences for our residents through engaging activities, celebrations and one-to-one interactions that promote wellbeing, independence and happiness.
About the Role
As our Activities Coordinator, you will:
- Plan and deliver a varied programme of activities for residents.
- Organise themed events, celebrations and seasonal activities.
- Spend one-to-one time with residents, supporting their individual interests and hobbies.
- Encourage participation and help residents remain active and socially connected.
- Arrange visits from entertainers, schools, volunteers and community groups.
- Organise occasional outings where appropriate.
- Work closely with families and the care team to deliver person-centred activities.
- Maintain activity records and contribute to care planning.
- Create displays and celebrate special occasions throughout the home.
About You
You'll be:
- Friendly, compassionate and approachable.
- Creative with plenty of ideas and enthusiasm.
- Confident communicating with older people, including those living with dementia.
- Organised and able to work independently.
- Passionate about improving quality of life for others.
Experience in care, hospitality, education, childcare, customer service, events or activities is welcomed but not essential—full support and training will be provided.
