Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic hospitality team. This role is essential in maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment, supporting chefs and kitchen staff to deliver excellent service. The ideal candidate will be proactive, reliable, and eager to develop their skills within the culinary and hospitality industry. This paid position offers valuable experience in a fast-paced restaurant or hotel setting.
Responsibilities
- Washing and sanitising dishes, utensils, pots, and pans to ensure cleanliness and hygiene standards are met
- Assisting with basic food preparation tasks under supervision
- Maintaining the cleanliness of kitchen surfaces, floors, and equipment throughout shifts
- Supporting the storage of ingredients and supplies in designated areas
- Assisting with waste disposal and recycling procedures in accordance with health and safety regulations
- Ensuring the kitchen area remains organised and hazard-free at all times
- Collaborating with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during service periods
Experience
While prior experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality environment is advantageous, it is not essential as full training will be provided. Candidates with background knowledge in food preparation, cooking, serving, or culinary arts are encouraged to apply. A keen interest in hospitality and a willingness to learn about kitchen operations are highly valued. Previous roles involving kitchen experience or hotel service can contribute to a successful transition into this position.
