Senior Project Engineer – Medical Devices
Location: Evergreen Venture Park, 4 & 5, Barton Rd, Wisbech PE13 4TP.
Salary: £55,000 per annum (negotiable, dependent on experience)

The Role
Due to continued growth, FRP are seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer to join the team. This is a key role lead the successful delivery of customer projects from concept to completion. Experience within injection mould tool design, moulding and processing is a must. The successful candidate will work closely with the project management team to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards, meeting customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities
· Facilitation and completion of (DFM) design for manufacture, around concept feasibility.
· Support the design, development, validation, and optimisation of injection mould tools.
· Work closely with toolmakers, moulding partners, and suppliers to achieve successful tool qualification and production readiness.
· Drive continuous improvement in tooling performance and FRP processes.
· Provide expertise within root cause analysis, leading corrective actions for engineering.
· Mentor junior engineers and team members, contributing to the development of best practices.
Skills & Experience
Essential
· Degree or HND/HNC in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Product Design, or a related discipline.
· Extensive experience in a Project Engineering, Tooling, and/or Manufacturing Engineering.
· Strong knowledge of injection mould tool design and development.
· Hands-on experience with injection moulding processes, troubleshooting, and process optimisation.
· Experience with CAD software and the ability to interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and technical specifications.
· Strong understanding of Design for Manufacture (DFM) principles.
· Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Desirable
· Experience within the medical device, healthcare, or highly regulated manufacturing sectors.
· Knowledge of validation activities including IQ, OQ, and PQ.
· Familiarity with ISO 13485 quality systems.
· Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
