We have an exciting opportunity to join our Production Team, based in our European Headquarters in Glenrothes.
MACHINE OPERATOR
WORKING HOURS: 48 hours, Monday-Thursday, 1800-0600 (nightshift)
EDUCATION: Basic High School Education
EXPERIENCE: 1- 3 years manufacturing
Role Overview:
To operate machinery involved in the production, top coating and finishing of material, ensuring output meets customer specifications and quality standards. The Machine Operator plays a key role in maintaining operational efficiency, workplace safety, and product quality.
What you’ll be doing
- Operate production machinery in accordance with work orders and instructions and support from the Senior Operator and Manufacturing Supervisor
- Monitor equipment performance and identify any faults or irregularities and report to Senior Operator/ Supervisor
- Participate in training new employees in machine operation and safety procedures
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping in the work area
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including production waste reduction and process efficiency
- Following scheduling and throughput of orders across assigned machines
Additional Competencies:
- Basic literacy and numeracy (reading, writing, addition, subtraction)
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to safely operate an overhead crane and both manual and electric pallet trucks
- Solid problem-solving and fault-finding abilities
- Attention to detail and commitment to safety
