Job Description - Surfacing Supervisor.
Role Summary:
The surfacing supervisor is responsible for planning, coordinating and supervising the safe and efficient delivery of surfacing works in line with contract specifications, quality standards (Industry and Company), health & safety requirements and project programme targets.
This role involves strong leadership, site presence and effective communication with surfacing teams, sub contractors and clients / clients representatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage day to day surfacing site operations and supervise crews to ensure works are delivered safely, on time and to specification.
- Plan, programme and coordinate surfacing activities, including plant and labour.
- Liaise with T&N Gilmartin's other divisions.
- Conduct regular site inspections / audits, assess progress in relation to programmed works and take corrective actions where necessary.
- Lead by example on all aspects of safety management on site. Carry out site briefings, toolbox talks, risk assessments and enforce adherence to quality, health & safety and environmental policies.
- Supervise and motivate operatives and sub-contractors to achieve high performance and quality standards.
- Ensure compliance with contract specifications, technical standards (industry and company) and ensure that required daily outputs are met, targets achieved and wastage minimised.
- Carry out Toolbox talks and site audits as required.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience supervising surfacing works.
- Knowledge of bituminous surfacing materials, laying techniques and quality standards.
- Strong organisational, communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and solve problems on site.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
