Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Credit Controller/Accounts Assistant to join our finance team. In this vital role, you will manage credit control processes, ensure timely collection of outstanding payments, and support the smooth operation of our accounts payable functions. Duties
- Monitor customer accounts to identify overdue payments and initiate collection procedures promptly
- Communicate effectively with clients regarding outstanding invoices through phone calls, emails, and written correspondence
- Maintain accurate records of all credit control activities using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero
- Assist with processing accounts payable by verifying invoices, matching purchase orders, and ensuring timely payments
- Reconcile accounts receivable and payable transactions regularly to ensure data accuracy
- Support month-end closing activities by preparing relevant reports and updating account ledgers
- Collaborate with the finance team to improve credit control procedures and optimize cash flow management
Qualifications
- Proven experience in credit control, accounts receivable, or accounts payable roles within a fast-paced environment
- Strong proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero; experience with other accounting systems is a plus
- Knowledge of accounts payable processes and best practices for managing supplier payments
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to negotiate effectively and build positive relationships
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Basic understanding of financial statements and reconciliation techniques
- A proactive attitude with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team
