Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable Part-Time Handyman and Gardener to assist with maintaining and enhancing the aesthetic and functional aspects of outside and inside maintenance within a children’s nursery The role offers flexible hours suitable for individuals with indoor and outside maintenance experience. The successful candidate will possess practical skills in using various tools and equipment, ensuring the upkeep of gardens, lawns, and outdoor areas to a high standard.
Duties
- Perform general garden tasks including planting, pruning, weeding.
- Maintain landscape features such as pathways, flower beds, and decorative elements.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and irrigation systems efficiently for maintenance and repairs within a nursery setting.
- Install or repair garden features such as fences, decking, or water features as required.
- Conduct routine inspections of outdoor areas to identify issues needing attention.
- Assist with seasonal tasks such as leaf clearance, planting new flora, or preparing gardens for winter.
- Ensure all equipment is properly maintained and stored after use to guarantee safety and longevity.
Requirements
- Proven experience in gardening, horticulture, or landscape maintenance is desirable. Handyman skills needed for repairs etc.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and irrigation systems safely and effectively.
- Knowledge of plant care, growing techniques.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while adhering to safety standards.
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail in completing tasks efficiently.
- Physical fitness to undertake outdoor activities including digging, lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- A valid driver’s licence is preferred but not essential. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about gardening and outdoor maintenance to contribute their skills within a flexible part-time capacity.
