Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Lead Emergency Veterinarian to join our dynamic veterinary team. Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate emergency veterinary services, ensuring prompt and effective treatment for critically ill or injured animals
- Supervise veterinary technicians and support staff during emergency procedures, providing guidance and mentorship
- Perform complex diagnostic and surgical procedures with precision and care
- Oversee laboratory testing processes, ensuring accurate results to inform treatment plans
- Maintain detailed medical records, ensuring compliance with legal and organisational standards
- Communicate effectively with pet owners, providing updates on their animals’ condition and explaining treatment options
- Assist in the development of protocols for emergency care procedures to optimise patient outcomes
- Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations within the clinic environment
Experience
- Proven veterinary experience, ideally with a focus on emergency or critical care medicine
- Laboratory experience is highly desirable, including familiarity with diagnostic testing equipment and procedures
- Demonstrated leadership skills within a veterinary setting, with the ability to manage a team effectively
- Strong communication skills, capable of liaising confidently with clients and team members
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with advances in veterinary medicine
