Overview
We are seeking a friendly and versatile Barista/All Rounder to join our vibrant team on a 30 hour contract. This role involves preparing high-quaility food and drinks, serving customers, and assisting with various tasks around our coffeehouse to ensure a smooth and welcoming environment. The role requires opening and closing of the store and lone working. The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering excellent customer service and maintaining high standards of food safety. Previous experience in a similar role is preferred. This position offers an engaging work environment within a small family run business.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialised drinks, ensuring consistency and quality.
- Provide exceptional customer service by taking orders, answering queries, and creating a welcoming atmosphere.
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as assembling sandwhiches and toasties.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the work area in accordance with food safety standards.
- Handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently using the POS system.
- Restock supplies and ensure all equipment is functioning properly throughout shifts.
- Support team members during busy periods to ensure prompt service delivery.
- Uphold health and safety regulations at all times to guarantee a safe environment for staff and customers.
Experience
- Previous barista experience is desirable.
- Knowledge of food safety standards is advantageous.
- Experience in serving customers in a fast-paced environment is beneficial.
- Basic maths skills are necessary for handling transactions accurately.
- Strong time management skills to prioritise tasks effectively during busy periods.
- Ability to work well within a team while also being capable of working independently when required.
