To Start: September 2026
Location: The Courtyard Centre for the Arts, Edgar Street, Hereford, HR4 9JR and other locations throughout Herefordshire

The Courtyard is Herefordshire’s primary arts centre, producing, hosting and supporting a wide range of participatory and non-participatory events both in the main venue in Hereford and at others throughout the county. It is proud of its status as a National Portfolio Organisation of Arts Council England.
The Education & Participation department is responsible for a huge programme of activities, including a large and thriving youth theatre, arts-based courses and classes for all age groups, holiday workshops and work in schools throughout Herefordshire and beyond. This is a very exciting time to come into the department as we are looking to strengthen and expand our existing work on productions and projects with the youth theatre and schools.
We are looking for a key team player who has strong skills in delivering drama sessions for young people and who is passionate and enthusiastic about enriching young people’s lives through theatre. The successful candidate will primarily support and deliver our schools programme, leading workshops and projects in schools across Herefordshire and developing positive relationships with teachers, school staff and young people. Most working hours will fall during the school day, with some potential after-school club delivery where required. We envisage the 12.5 hours being split across 3 or 4 days but are happy to work with the availability of the chosen candidate. Weekend working will not be required initially but may be something that is discussed for the spring or summer term. Some flexibility will be needed to support occasional projects, meetings or programme needs. The successful candidate will need an Enhanced DBS check.
If you are interested in applying for this role you will find the application pack, with a full job description and person spec, on The Courtyard’s website at courtyard.org.uk/job-vacancies/. You will need to complete and return the application form as we do not short list from CVs.
The Courtyard is committed to encouraging diversity and eliminating discrimination. Our aim is that our workforce will be truly representative of all sections of society and that each individual feels respected and able to give their best. As part of our commitment to developing our workforce to be reflective of our communities we are particularly encouraging of applications from individuals who are ethnically diverse, disabled, LGBTQI and from lower socio-economic backgrounds.
