Introduction
Following the completion of an independent Root and Branch Governance Review, the Board has accepted a comprehensive programme of governance and organisational improvement. We are seeking an experienced Interim Programme Director (Governance) to lead the implementation of these agreed improvements and embed sustainable governance arrangements across the organisation.
This is a hands-on assignment for an individual with a strong track record of governance transformation, organisational improvement and working with Boards, Trustees and community organisations.
The Role
· Development and embedding of governance frameworks and organisational controls.
· Board and Committee Terms of Reference.
· Schemes of Delegation, authority matrices and Reserved Matters Schedules.
· Governance policies, reporting arrangements and compliance mechanisms.
· Financial governance, risk and assurance frameworks.
· Organisational systems, processes and supporting documentation.
The successful candidate will operate with a high degree of autonomy, initiative and professional judgement, taking ownership of delivery whilst reporting to and seeking approval from the Board where appropriate.
About You
· Has demonstrable experience of governance transformation and organisational improvement.
· Has experience working with Boards, Trustees or senior leadership teams.
· Can produce high-quality governance documentation and practical implementation tools.
· Can work independently, manage competing priorities and deliver within agreed timescales.
· Has excellent drafting, communication, facilitation and problem-solving skills.
· Experience within faith-based or community organisations would be advantageous but is not essential.
