The Snagging Engineer is responsible for returning to installation sites across the UK to complete lift installations that have been delayed due to missing or damaged components, site-related issues, or other unforeseen circumstances. The role requires a highly skilled and self-motivated engineer capable of independently diagnosing faults, carrying out remedial works, and ensuring installations are completed to the required quality and safety standards.
This position offers a pathway to progression, with the opportunity to become the Lead Engineer within a two-person installation team directly employed by Gartec.
Key Responsibilities
* Attend customer sites nationwide to complete outstanding installation works.
* Replace damaged, defective, or missing components and panels as required.
* Diagnose and rectify faults across the full range of Aritco lift products.
* Complete installation activities, including:
* Shaft completion works
* Internal panel installation
* System setup and configuration
* Load testing and commissioning
* Insulation resistance testing
* Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with company procedures, industry standards, and health and safety requirements.
* Complete all required documentation, reports, and commissioning records accurately and within agreed timescales.
* Work independently and effectively manage workloads while maintaining a high standard of workmanship and customer service.
* Support continuous improvement initiatives and provide technical feedback where necessary.
Essential Requirements
* Comprehensive technical knowledge of Aritco lift products.
* Proven ability to remove, replace, and install all lift panels and associated components.
* Competent fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
* Ability to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision.
* Strong organisational and administrative skills, including the timely completion of documentation.
* Hold, or be willing and able to obtain, an appropriate CSCS card (above Labourer level) to permit lone working on construction sites.
* Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel extensively throughout the UK.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
* NVQ Level 2 or higher in a relevant engineering discipline.
* Experience working with Vimec products.
* Previous experience in lift installation, commissioning, or service engineering environments.
Pay: £37,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
