Self Employed Cleaner
Location: Bedford and surrounding areas

So Clean So Fresh is looking for an experienced and reliable Self Employed Cleaner to join our team and provide flexible cover across our cleaning contracts.
This is an ad-hoc role initially, helping us cover staff sickness, holidays, additional work and busy periods. For the right person, there is the potential for the role to develop into more regular and guaranteed hours.
The Role
The work will be varied, so we are looking for someone who is flexible and comfortable working across different types of cleaning jobs.
Work may include:
- Commercial office cleaning
- School cleaning
- Pub and hospitality cleaning
- End of tenancy cleans
- Deep cleans
- Builders cleans
- Communal area cleaning
- Event and rugby match cleaning
- Holiday and sickness cover
- Other one-off cleaning jobs
Hours will vary depending on the work available and may include mornings, daytime, evenings and weekends.
You must also be comfortable accepting work at short notice, as some cover may be required the same day or with limited notice.
What We're Looking For
Applicants must:
- Have previous professional cleaning experience
- Be reliable and able to work independently
- Have a full driving licence
- Have their own vehicle
- Be flexible with working hours
- Be available for occasional short-notice work
- Be comfortable travelling between different cleaning locations
- Have good attention to detail
- Be able to maintain high cleaning standards
- Be trustworthy, as some roles may involve keys and access to client premises
A current DBS check would be highly desirable, particularly as some of our contracts may involve schools or other sensitive environments.
Location & Travel
Most work will be based in Bedford.
There may occasionally be opportunities outside Bedford, but these would always be discussed and agreed with you beforehand.
The hourly rate is £14.00 per hour, and applicants should take their own travel costs into consideration.
Cleaning products and equipment can be supplied by So Clean So Fresh.
About the Opportunity
This role would suit an experienced cleaner who already works on a self-employed basis and is looking for additional flexible work.
There are no guaranteed hours initially, as the role is primarily to provide cover and assist with additional cleaning jobs.
However, as our business continues to grow, there will be opportunities for reliable cleaners to take on regular contracts and potentially guaranteed weekly hours.
