Overview
We are seeking motivated and dedicated individuals to join our team as Apprentice Roofers. This paid position offers hands-on experience in the roofing industry, providing opportunities to develop essential skills and knowledge under the guidance of experienced professionals. The role is ideal for those interested in construction trades, with a focus on Solar installation and maintenance. Successful applicants will gain practical exposure to various aspects of roofing work, including the use of hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques. Responsibilities
- Assist Main Roofer on the roof mounting the feet, rails and panels
- Assist Main roofer in bringing the panels, rails, feet up onto the roof
- Assist with the installation, repair, and maintenance of roofing systems on residential and commercial properties
- Use hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment safely and effectively
- Support fabrication and cutting of materials as required for roofing projects
- Aid in the preparation of surfaces by cleaning, stripping old roofing materials, and ensuring proper surface conditions
- Participate in heavy lifting tasks to move materials and equipment safely around site
- Contribute to the organisation and cleanliness of the work area to maintain safety standards
Qualifications
- Basic understanding of construction principles is advantageous but not essential; willingness to learn is more important
- Physically fit with the ability to perform heavy lifting and work at heights safely
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- Willingness to undertake training in PV installations
- Prior experience with hand tools or power tools is required
- A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and commitment to safety standards are essential
