A residential children’s home in Derby is seeking an experienced Registered Manager to lead a 4‑bed service supporting children and young people aged 8–17 with learning disabilities. The role focuses on delivering high‑quality, child‑centred care and ensuring positive outcomes within a safe, nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the day‑to‑day operations of the residential home.
- Deliver personalised care tailored to each young person’s needs, development, and experiences.
- Ensure full compliance with relevant legislation, including the Children Act 1989, Children’s Homes Regulations 2015, and Care Standards Act 2000.
- Oversee safeguarding procedures, staff rotas, and internal management systems.
- Manage budgets and contribute to service development projects.
- Support, supervise, and develop staff to maintain a positive and professional team culture.
- Participate in the shared on‑call rota as part of the management team.
Requirements
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Children and Young People (completed or working towards).
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in residential childcare.
- Strong leadership and management skills, including staff supervision and budget oversight.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and up‑to‑date regulatory knowledge.
- Eligibility for Ofsted registration as the Registered Manager.
