Senior Youth & Play Worker

Location: The Vench, Lockleaze Youth and Play Space, Romney Avenue, Bristol, BS7 9TB
Contract: Fixed Term to March 2027 with the potential to extend
Salary: £18,200 per annum (FTE £27,300)
Hours: 25 hours each week Monday to Friday to include after school youth and play sessions

The Vench is a vibrant adventure playground and community centre in the heart of Lockleaze, Bristol. We are looking for an enthusiastic and organised Senior Youth & Play Worker to help deliver safe, inclusive, and engaging play and youth activities for local children, young people and families.
About the Role
Working closely with the Centre Manager, you will lead term-time and holiday sessions, support staff and volunteers, coordinate activities, and help ensure children and young people have a positive, safe and enjoyable experience at The Vench.
Key Responsibilities
· Lead and support youth and play sessions.
· Supervise and coordinate staff and volunteers.
· Plan engaging activities and play opportunities.
· Support safeguarding, health and safety, and positive behaviour.
· Coordinate volunteer recruitment, induction and support.
· Maintain records, registers and database systems.
· Promote activities through local communications and social media.
· Build positive relationships with children, families and community partners.
You will have:
· Experience working with children and young people.
· Strong organisational and communication skills.
· Experience supporting or supervising staff and volunteers.
· Knowledge of safeguarding and inclusive practice.
· A passion for play, youth work and community engagement.
An Enhanced DBS Check with Children's Barred List checks will be required for this role.
