The fitter is responsible to the Second Engineer/Chief Officer for:
- Assisting the engine room watch keepers/UMS duty engineers as required, in particular with regard to the maintenance of the plant
- Maintaining all machinery, technical equipment, plant etc. as instructed and under the supervision and guidance of an Engineer Officer
- Adopting safe working practices
- Undertaking any other duties assigned by the Chief Engineer and/or Second Engineer
The job requires:
- Good team working skills
- Ability to perform tasks in an orderly way
- Comfortable understanding and following instructions and willing to ask for clarification if necessary
