The Role
We are looking for a STEP-qualified Legal Assistant to draft high-quality Wills, Trusts and related estate planning documents for our clients. Working closely with our consultants, you’ll turn client instructions into accurate, legally sound documentation — playing a key part in helping families protect what matters most to them.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Drafting Wills, Trusts, Lasting Powers of Attorney and related estate planning documents to a high standard
- Preparing documentation from consultants’ instructions and attendance notes
- Liaising with clients and consultants to obtain and clarify the information required
- Ensuring all documents are accurate, technically correct, compliant and in line with the firm’s standards
- Progressing matters efficiently from instruction through to completion
- Maintaining accurate, up-to-date records in our case management / CRM system
- Keeping your technical knowledge current, including ongoing STEP CPD
- Supporting the wider team as required
Essential
- STEP qualified — STEP Diploma in Trusts and Estates, or TEP (Trust and Estate Practitioner) designation
- Proven experience drafting Wills and Trusts
- Strong knowledge of estate planning, including Lasting Powers of Attorney and the fundamentals of inheritance tax
- Excellent attention to detail and a high standard of accuracy
- Strong written communication skills
- Well-organised, able to manage several matters at once and meet deadlines
- Discreet and professional when handling confidential and sensitive information
Pay: £30,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
