Behaviour Support Mentor
Location: Hackney, East London
Contract Type: Full-time, Term-time only
Salary: £93 – £100 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: September 2026
The Supply Room is currently working with a vibrant, inclusive primary school in Hackney that is looking for a dedicated Behaviour Support Mentor. You will work closely with pupils who need extra help managing their emotions and engagement in the classroom. This role is ideal for someone passionate about making a real difference in children's lives.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver targeted 1-to-1 mentoring sessions for specific pupils.
- Run small group interventions focused on emotional regulation.
- De-escalate challenging behavior using positive reinforcement strategies.
- Create a safe, calm environment for vulnerable children.
- Work with teachers to implement individual behaviour plans.
- Track and report on student progress and well-being.
Requirements
- Experience working with primary-aged children with challenging behaviour.
- Knowledge of SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs.
- Excellent communication and active listening skills.
- Calm, resilient, and patient approach to difficult situations.
- Relevant training (e.g., Team Teach, Step On) is highly desirable.
- A valid Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply for one).
