Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Accountant/ Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the day-to-day financial operations of the organisation including daily bookkeeping, cash flow management, machine‑income reconciliation and statutory compliance. This position requires proficiency in accounting software and a solid understanding of accounts payable processes. You will work directly with senior management to ensure Vault Casinos operates with complete financial transparency and regulatory accuracy. Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate ledgers, journals, and transaction records.
- Track machine takings, payouts, variances and cash box balances.
- Track and manage expenditure during site acquisition and fit out phase.
- Reconcile bingo sessions, ticket sales, prize payouts and digital gaming revenue
- Monitor daily cash movements, banking, floats and safe balances.
- Ensure compliance with UK Gambling Commission rules, VAT on gaming, MGD (Machine Games Duty) and other statutory requirements.
- Assist with payroll calculations, staff hours and HMRC submissions.
- Manage invoicing, payments, scheduling and monthly reconciliations.
- Use Claude in Excel or equivalent LLM tools to automate reports, build forecasting models and streamline workflows.
- Prepare monthly management accounts including P&L, balance sheet, variance analysis and performance dashboards and present to management.
- Maintain organised records for internal and external audits.
- Prepare and present debtors reports to senior management.
- Collaborate with team members to improve processes and enhance efficiency within the finance department.
- Complete and process claim forms and other relevant financial documentation
Requirements
- Qualified ACCA (minimum requirement).
- 5 years’ experience in a similar accounting or finance role, ideally within gaming, hospitality, retail, or other regulated cash‑handling environments.
- Strong understanding of UK accounting standards and HMRC requirements
- Appetite and ability to learn and adopt gambling commission rules and regulations
- Confident with AI‑assisted tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, or Excel‑integrated LLMs.
- Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to liaise effectively with colleagues, customers and suppliers.
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative and contribute to process improvements
Vault Casinos is entering the Adult gaming centre sector, offering a modern, tech‑driven gaming experience including slot machines and electronic bingo. Our first site is in Wembley and with more sites acquired in the pipeline to open soon. As a new operator in a tightly regulated industry, we require a meticulous and proactive Accountant to manage day‑to‑day financial operations and ensure full compliance with UK gaming legislation.
