As we embark on a period of significant, planned growth across our Skills Bootcamps, Adult Skills Fund (ASF) provision, and B2B activity, we are looking for a results-driven Commercial Manager to own and drive our revenue growth.
The Role
As our Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for defining and delivering our commercial strategy. This is a strategic, revenue-owning role that also requires hands-on delivery. You will win and grow funded contracts, nurture the relationships that underpin our tenders, and ensure that our commercial promises are delivered through effective onboarding and conversion.
This is an in-person role based in Norwich, with a significant amount of travel expected
Key Responsibilities
- Drive Revenue Growth: Own and deliver commercial revenue targets across Skills Bootcamps, ASF, and B2B in line with our annual and long-range plans.
- Tender & Bid Development: Lead the writing of successful tender and bid documents, ensuring submissions are high-quality, compliant, and timely.
- Relationship Management: Act as the senior commercial point of contact, nurturing relationships with funders, councils, strategic authorities, and local employer
- B2B Engagement: Execute a targeted B2B engagement strategy to build partnerships with employers for graduate hiring and corporate upskilling.
- Market Intelligence: Monitor regional funding priorities and Local Skills Improvement Plans (LSIPs) to inform our tender strategy.
- Leadership: Foster cross-functional collaboration and lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing commercial team.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven Track Record: Demonstrable history of commercial leadership, owning revenue targets, and winning new business.
- Bid Management: Experience in bid, tender, or contract writing and management, ideally within funded skills, education, or the public sector.
- Relationship Skills: Excellent ability to build and grow client, funder, and partner relationships.
- Strategic & Analytical: A data-driven approach with a willingness to learn and adapt to an ever-changing landscape.
- Communication: Strong negotiation and collaboration abilities.
- Desirable: An understanding of the UK skills funding landscape (Skills Bootcamps, ASF, devolution).
What We Offer
- Competitive Salary: £38,000 - £50,000 per annum (dependent on experience).
