Job Overview
We are a well established childcare setting that is in the process of expanding to multiple locations between Stroud and Quedgeley.
We are seeking a dedicated Childminding Assistant to support the care and development of children in a nurturing environment.
This role involves working closely with children to ensure their safety, engagement, and well-being.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for childcare and possess excellent communication skills. They must have good initiative and be able to work in a small team.
This position offers an engaging opportunity to contribute positively to children's growth while gaining valuable experience in childcare.
We have full and part time roles available in Stonehouse and part time available in Brookthorpe.
Duties
- Supervise and engage children in age-appropriate activities to promote learning and development
- Assist with organising daily routines, including meal times, play sessions, and rest periods
- Support children with their educational activities, including basic teaching tasks where appropriate
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of children at all times within the childcare setting
- Maintain a clean and organised environment conducive to children's activities
- Communicate effectively with parents or guardians regarding children's progress and needs
- Follow all health and safety regulations, including safeguarding protocols
Skills
- Experience or background in childcare, nannying, or teaching roles is highly desirable
- Ability to communicate fluently
- Compassionate, patient, and attentive attitude towards children's needs
- Organised with strong organisational skills to manage daily routines efficiently
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Good interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues
- Knowledge of Paediatric First Aid & Safeguarding. Up to date certificates in these will be a plus, or willingness to complete courses before start date
- Clear DBS in childcare workforce on update service would be a plus. Or complete one before start date
