We are looking to recruit a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to provide care and support for an 18-year-old male client with cerebral palsy and complex healthcare needs who lives in his own home.
This is a rewarding and varied role where you will work alongside the client's primary carer and a multidisciplinary team of therapists to deliver person-centred care and rehabilitation.
A full UK driving licence is essential, as you will be required to drive the client's Motability vehicle.
Hours Available
- Term Time: 38.5 hours per week
- School Holidays: 49 hours per week
Shift PatternsTerm Time
- Monday: 6:45am to 11:00am and 2:30pm to 7:00pm
- Wednesday: 6:45am to 11:00am and 2:30pm to 7:00pm
- Friday: 6:45am to 11:00am and 2:30pm to 7:00pm
- One weekend shift: 6:45am to 7:00pm
School Holidays
- Monday: 6:45am to 7:00pm
- Wednesday: 6:45am to 7:00pm
- Friday: 6:45am to 7:00pm
- One weekend shift: 6:45am to 7:00pm
Pay Rates
- £16.15 to £17.22 per hour, depending on hours and days worked
- Bank Holidays paid at 1.5 times the standard rate
About the Role
The successful candidate will support the client with:
- Personal care and daily living activities
- Manual handling
- Epilepsy management
- PEG and JEJ care
- Medication administration
- Communication support
- Community access and social activities
- Rehabilitation programmes as directed by therapists
Full paid training will be provided, including specialist clinical training where required.
Key Responsibilities
- Put the client at the centre of all care delivery, respecting their wishes, preferences, and individual needs.
- Follow care plans and support guidelines accurately and consistently.
- Report any changes in the client's health, wellbeing, or support needs to the Case Manager or Care Coordinator.
- Promote the client's independence, dignity, and wellbeing.
- Safeguard and protect the welfare of the client at all times.
- Provide direct care and support with personal hygiene, moving and handling, and medication administration.
- Monitor, record, and communicate any changes in the client's health or behaviour.
- Work effectively as part of the wider care and therapy team.

Desired Experience
Previous experience in a care, support, or healthcare role is preferred, although not essential, as full training will be provided.

- Care planning and record keeping
