Are you passionate about helping young people reach their full potential?
DegreeSix are currently recruiting Behaviour Mentors to support schools and alternate provisions (AP) across Birmingham for the new academic year starting in September. If you have previous experience working within a school setting and supporting challenging behaviour (especially SEMH), your skills could make a real difference in a child’s life.
DegreeSix is a specialist SEN agency working with local mainstream and specialist schools across Birmingham. We support pupils from Early Years through to Secondary who may need additional help with their learning, behaviour, and emotional development.
Our roles are mainly full-time and long-term within the same environment; however we do have availability for some day-to-day cover if you are looking for more flexible work.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis or in small groups with SEMH, Autism (ASD), ADHD, LAC, and behavioural needs
- Acting as a positive role model and mentor, helping young people build confidence, resilience, and self-esteem
- Using de-escalation and behaviour management strategies to create a calm, safe, and supportive learning environment
- Working closely with teaching staff, parents, and carers to celebrate progress and support each child’s development
- Applying previous behaviour support training such as Team Teach, MAPA, NAPPI, or MAYBO where appropriate
We’re Looking For People Who Have:
- Previous experience working in a school setting with challenging behaviours or related field (youth work, sports coach etc)
- A calm, patient, and proactive approach to behaviour support
- A genuine passion for helping young people overcome barriers and achieve success
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
Why Join DegreeSix?

- Long-term and temp-to-perm positions available

- The opportunity to make a lasting impact every single day
Start a rewarding career where your support truly changes lives.
