Accounts Semi-Senior

A highly regarded independent firm of Chartered Accountants in Liskeard is looking to recruit an Accounts Semi-Senior to join its expanding team. The firm acts for a broad portfolio of owner-managed businesses, limited companies, partnerships and sole traders across a wide range of industries, providing accounting, tax and business advisory services.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing year-end statutory accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
- Assisting with the preparation of monthly and quarterly management accounts
- Preparing corporation tax computations and company tax returns
- Completing self-assessment tax returns for individuals
- Preparing and submitting VAT returns
- Bookkeeping using cloud-based accounting software including Xero, QuickBooks and Sage
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, responding to queries in a timely and professional manner
- Assisting senior staff with client assignments and ad hoc projects
- Supporting the development of junior members of the team where appropriate
Skills & Experience
- At least 2 years' experience working within an accountancy practice
- AAT qualified or studying towards ACA or ACCA
- Experience preparing accounts for a varied client portfolio
- Good knowledge of cloud accounting software, including Xero, QuickBooks or Sage
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- A proactive approach with a genuine desire to continue developing within practice
