Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Sewing Machinist to join our seating manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating sewing machines to produce high-quality garments and textile products. Duties
- Operate various sewing machines to assemble and finish textile products according to specifications
- Ensure consistent quality by inspecting finished work for defects or irregularities
- Follow detailed production plans and adhere to deadlines
- Maintain and troubleshoot sewing equipment to ensure optimal performance
- Assist with material handling, including loading and unloading fabrics and finished goods within the warehouse
- Keep the work area clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety standards
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily production targets
Requirements
- Proven experience in sewing, with a strong understanding of different stitches and techniques
- Warehouse experience is desirable, demonstrating ability to handle materials efficiently
- Ability to operate sewing machines safely and effectively
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and production needs
- Basic numeracy skills for measuring and quality checks
