Shrigley Hall Hotel & Spa is a historic country house hotel set within the beautiful Cheshire countryside. We are renowned for our weddings, conferences and special events, and we are looking for a hands-on Conference & Banqueting Assistant Manager to join our friendly and supportive team.

The Role
Working closely with the Conference & Banqueting Manager and the wider hotel operations team, you will help oversee the smooth running of meetings, conferences, weddings and banqueting events.
From ensuring event spaces are perfectly prepared to supporting the team throughout service, you will play an important role in making sure every event runs seamlessly from arrival through to departure.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the planning and delivery of conferences, weddings, banquets and other hotel events.
- Ensure function rooms and event spaces are prepared to the required standards and client specifications.
- Act as a key point of contact for clients and guests during events.
- Supervise, motivate and support the Conference & Banqueting team during service.
- Lead by example and help create a positive, energetic working environment.
- Work closely with the kitchen, reception and wider operations teams to ensure effective communication.
- Respond quickly and professionally to operational issues or guest concerns.
- Support the training, development and performance of team members.
- Maintain high standards of health and safety, food hygiene and general compliance.
- Assist with stock control and ensure equipment and event set-ups are maintained to a high standard.
- Identify opportunities to continually improve service and guest satisfaction.
About You
We are looking for someone who is dependable, enthusiastic and genuinely enjoys working in hospitality.
You will ideally have:
- Previous experience in a hotel conference, banqueting, events or food and beverage supervisory role.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage several priorities at once.
- A confident and approachable communication style.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- The ability to lead, motivate and support a busy team.
- A calm, practical and solution-focused approach.
- Strong attention to detail and good operational awareness.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and peak event periods.
