Overview
We are seeking an experienced General Manager to lead our countryside Pub/Restaurant/Coffee shop/Hotel establishment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, a passion for delivering exceptional customer service, and extensive experience with hotel, Pub and Coffee shop management. This role involves overseeing daily operations, managing staff, ensuring food safety standards, and maintaining high levels of guest satisfaction. The successful applicant will be instrumental in driving the success of our organisation through effective team management and operational excellence.
Duties
- Lead and supervise all aspects of restaurant and Accommodation operations, including food preparation, serving, and hospitality services.
- Manage and motivate staff, including supervising team members, organising shifts, and fostering a positive working environment.
- Oversee food safety compliance and ensure adherence to all relevant health regulations and standards.
- Coordinate food production processes, ensuring quality control and efficient service delivery.
- Develop and implement operational policies to optimise efficiency and guest satisfaction.
- Handle customer enquiries, complaints, and feedback professionally to maintain high service standards.
- Monitor financial performance, including budgeting, inventory control, and cost management.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff on culinary initiatives, menu planning, and food presentation standards.
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment in line with health and safety regulations.
- Stay updated with industry trends to innovate service offerings and improve overall guest experience.
Skills
- Proven supervisory experience within the hospitality or restaurant sector.
- Strong team management skills with the ability to motivate staff effectively.
- Extensive restaurant or hotel experience with knowledge of food preparation, cooking, and serving techniques.
- Solid understanding of food safety protocols and food production processes.
- Leadership qualities with excellent organisational skills.
- Experience in managing food costs, inventory control, and operational budgets.
- Exceptional communication skills to liaise with staff, suppliers, and guests professionally.
- Knowledge of hospitality standards including customer service excellence and hospitality etiquette.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with kitchen operations, culinary practices, and barista or beverage services is advantageous.
