We are looking for a detail-oriented and organised Finance Assistant to join our dynamic finance team. The purpose of this role is to provide essential support for our day-to-day financial operations, ensuring that our reconciliation processes run smoothly and efficiently. You will be a key player in maintaining the accuracy of our financial records and supporting the wider team in its mission to drive the financial health of the company.
What You'll Do
Reconciliation: You will perform weekly reconciliations of items such as the company credit cards and PayPal accounts, ensuring all receipts are documented and providing updates on balances.
Month-End Accounting: Assist in the preparation and posting of key month-end journals, including adjustments for prepayments, accruals, and fixed assets.
VAT compliance: Prepare and submit draft quarterly VAT returns for review by the Finance Manager, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
Payments & Queries: Take responsibility for processing payment runs to our suppliers and partners, ensuring appropriate due diligence takes place.
What You'll Bring
Essential Knowledge & Skills:
High level of accuracy and strong attention to detail.
Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Experience That Will Set You Apart:
Previous experience in a financial assistant role.
Familiarity with financial software systems.
Qualifications:
Part or fully qualified AAT qualification is desirable
Package
Salary £TBC dependent on experience, and enjoy a flexible, 35-hour working week, 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays) and an extra 1-day holiday after each year of service (max additional 5 days). The role will be based in Leeds at least one day a week.
