Job Summary
We are seeking a professional HGV Articulation Class 1 Day Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely operating flatbed lorries on daily delivery routes, ensuring timely and secure transportation of goods. Duties
- Safely operate box trailers HGV Articulation Class 1 lorries during daytime shifts, adhering to all road safety regulations and company policies.
- Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the lorry is in optimal condition.
- Load and unload goods efficiently, ensuring items are secured correctly during transit.
- Plan delivery routes effectively to meet schedule deadlines while maintaining safety standards.
- Complete all required documentation accurately, including delivery notes and vehicle logs.
- Communicate professionally with dispatch and clients regarding delivery schedules or any issues encountered during routes.
- Maintain a clean and organised vehicle, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid HGV Articulation Class 1 licence with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with flatbed vehicles or similar equipment.
- Delivery driver experience is highly desirable, demonstrating reliability and punctuality.
- Knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for transporting goods by lorry.
- Ability to operate flatbed trailers confidently and securely load/unload cargo.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan routes efficiently.
