The Role
Food Republic are looking for an organised and capable Accounts Payable Assistant to support the Finance Team, Operations Team and Directors with the day-to-day running of finance and operational administration functions.
Based in Battersea, London, Food Republic supplies high quality food and drink products to over 500 locations across London and the Southeast. The successful candidate will support supplier account management, invoice processing, operational administration and weekly business reporting across the company.
Key Responsibilities
The key responsibilities of the Accounts Payable Assistant include, but are not limited to:
- Daily filing, scanning and document management for the Finance Department
- Setting up new supplier accounts on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central [BC]
- Processing purchase orders and supplier invoices accurately and within agreed timeframes
- Running supplier payment runs and ensuring payments are made on time
- Reconciling supplier statements and resolving invoice or payment queries
- Requesting supplier credits for damaged stock, shortages and invoice discrepancies
- Processing stock adjustments and maintaining accurate stock records within the system
- Assisting with operational admin and supporting the wider Operations Team where required
- Producing daily & weekly reports for departments across the business
- Supporting month-end procedures, including posting overhead invoices and rebates
- Maintaining accurate records and ensuring all finance and operational data is up to date
- Carrying out any other duties requested by the Finance Manager or Senior Management
The Person
The ideal Accounts Payable Assistant will have the following skills and qualities:
- A-Level educated or equivalent [Level 3]
- Knowledge of general accounts payable and finance administration procedures
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
- Good analytical and reporting skills with confidence working with data
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook
- Experience producing reports and working with spreadsheets
- A strong team player with a flexible attitude and willingness to learn
- Ability to manage workload effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Experience using Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central [BC] would be advantageous, although training will be provided
- Previous experience within food distribution or operations administration would be beneficial but is not essential
Pay: £30,000.00 per year
