Your role: As Finance Manager – Advertising your role will be an essential part of the Peterborough Management Accounting team, reporting into the Senior Finance Manager (SFM) - Advertising and working closely with the Commercial finance Team in London.
This role will act as the critical operational and strategic bridge between our offshore delivery partner (Genpact) and the onshore business reporting teams. This role ensures financial accuracy, drives robust SOX compliance, and partners closely with commercial units.
Following the implementation of S/4 Hana, a core focus of this role will be driving process improvements, simplification, and automation across key financial workflows. Additionally, this position provides direct deputy support and coverage to the SFM - Advertising.
This is a 12-month fixed term contract.
Key Responsibilities:
Act as the main onshore escalation point for Genpact, actively supporting them with weekly reporting queries and challenging any anomalies.
Manage Stakeholder communication, the main point of contact for the London based Commercial teams, managing adhoc queries and acting as the bridge between Genpacts processing and the business reporting requirements.
Own the Solutions Revenue workstream, maintaining the Revenue tracker and ensuring Revenue Attribution Plan (RAP) sheet processing is up to date.
Support month end for Print and Digital workstreams, ensuring a smooth transition to Genpact and supporting the offshore team where required.
Ownership of SOX controls, ensuring tasks are performed accurately, documented correctly, and handling audit requests.
Champion process improvements, simplification, and automation initiatives, specifically targeting Advertising Travel workflows, month-end reconciliations, and TM1 integration and leveraging AI Capabilities.
Day to day you will:
Review weekly reporting and flash reports prepared by the offshore team, to ensure accuracy ahead of distribution to the Commercial teams.
Proactively review and analyse aging balance sheet balances and highlight risks and ops to SFM.
Own and maintain the solutions tracker, ensuring all revenue is recorded correctly and recognised in the correct weekly period.
Ensure the offshore team are processing RAP sheets correctly and give guidance on complex campaigns.
Monitor and maintain the Advertising Inbox ensuring all RAP sheets have been processed and all queries answered in a timely manner.
Support the offshore team with month end, understand and challenge PLVARS, and flag anything material to the SFM.
Understand Advertising contras and ensure they are accounted for correctly.
Support the offshore team in liaising with Travel and Events commercial teams and vice versa, to ensure smooth communication
Understand all Advertising Sox processes to ensure they are followed; challenge and highlight to the Senior Finance Manager if any instances where they are not being followed.
Being main point of contact for Advertising SOX and Audit requests, ensuring supporting documentation is provided by Genpact
Assist the SFM with adhoc queries and provide cover when required.
What we're looking for from you:
ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified or equivalent
Effective and clear communications skills, to both finance and non-finance stakeholders
Capable of understanding complex revenue campaigns and supporting the offshore team to account for them correctly.
Drive and enthusiasm to develop the role and add value by driving continuous process improvement.
Capable of flexibility and working with ambiguity, willing to take initiative without guidance
