We are excited to be recruiting a Childcare Practitioner for The Nest, our brand-new 0–2-year-old provision which opened in October 2025. As part of Sir James Knott Nursery School’s expansion, The Nest offers a calm, stimulating, high-quality early years’ experience for our youngest children.
About the Role:
As a Childcare Practitioner in The Nest, you will:
- Provide warm, responsive care to children aged 0–2 years.
- Plan and deliver play-based learning opportunities in line with the EYFS.
- Foster secure attachments and promote each child’s personal, social, and emotional development.
- Work closely with families to build positive partnerships.
- Be part of a committed, caring and reflective team.
We are looking for someone who:
- Holds a relevant Level 2 or Level 3 childcare qualification.
- Has experience of working with children under 2.
- Understands the importance of attachment, routines and communication in early development.
- Is passionate, nurturing, and committed to inclusive practice.
- Can work collaboratively as part of a small, close-knit team.

Mobility Clause: As part of this role, you may be required to work flexibly across both the main nursery site and the Nest satellite provision depending on operational needs. Reasonable notice will be given for any changes in work location.
