Job Summary
As a Chef in a residential care home, you will be responsible for preparing and serving nutritious, well-balanced meals that meet residents' dietary needs, preferences, and requirements. Maintain high standards of food hygiene and safety, ensure the kitchen is clean and well-organized, and comply with all health and safety regulations. . You work closely with care staff and management to provide a positive dining experience, supporting residents' health, wellbeing, and quality of life through high-quality meal preparation and excellent service.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook meals in accordance with our residents preferences.
- Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene throughout all kitchen activities
- Support the team during busy service periods by ensuring timely meal delivery
- Follow health and safety regulations at all times to ensure a safe working environment
- Clean and sanitise workstations, utensils, and equipment after use
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation and cooking within a professional kitchen setting
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy periods
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail
- Good communication skills and ability to work well within a team
- Flexibility to cover various shifts as required, including evenings and weekends if necessary
- Previous experience in restaurant or catering environments is desirable but not essential; enthusiasm for culinary arts is a must
