Reports to: Chief Operating Officer
Location: Field-based, hybrid office days, UK-wide travel as required
Contract type: Permanent, full-time
Compensation: Basic salary + uncapped commission on contract value won
The Role
BenAstro Group is building a manned guarding and security services division supplying SIA-licensed operatives across door supervision, static guarding, mobile patrol, and event security. We need a Security Contracts Procurement Manager whose sole mandate is to win contracts, direct client agreements, subcontract arrangements with Tier 1 and Tier 2 security firms, and framework positions with housing associations, FM companies, and public sector buyers.
This is not an account management role. This is not a desk-based sales role waiting for inbound leads. This is a hunter role for someone who already knows the people who make these buying decisions, and who is energised by closing deals other people can't reach.
What You Will Own
- Identify, approach, and close new security contracts across construction, retail, events, housing, and corporate FM channels.
- Build and manage subcontract relationships with Tier 1 firms (Mitie, Securitas, G4S, Allied Universal) and Tier 2 regional firms (Corps, Kingdom, Carlisle, Reliance) to win overflow and spot-cover work.
- Register and maintain BenAstro's position on supplier portals, frameworks, and approved-contractor lists (Constructionline, CHAS, Achilles, DPS).
- Own the relationship pipeline with Regional Operations Managers and labour desks at target firms — this means proactive outreach, not waiting to be found.
- Lead BenAstro's ACS (Approved Contractor Scheme) application process in partnership with operations, ensuring compliance evidence is gathered and submitted on schedule.
- Negotiate commercial terms, rate cards, and SLAs that protect margin while remaining competitive enough to win.
- Represent BenAstro at industry events (IFSEC, The Security Event) and build a personal network that becomes a pipeline asset for the business.
- Feed operational and training teams accurate forecasts of contracted headcount needs so deployment never falls short.
What We Need From You
- Minimum 5 years' experience in the manned guarding or security services sector in a commercial, business development, or contracts role.
- A demonstrable track record of personally winning or managing security contracts worth £500,000+ annually.
- Existing relationships with procurement or operations contacts at Tier 1/Tier 2 security firms, FM companies, housing associations, or local authorities, you should already know names, not need to build a list from scratch.
- Working knowledge of SIA licensing, the ACS standard, and AWR compliance, you should be able to talk operational detail credibly, not just sell on price.
- A genuine hunter mindset: comfortable with cold outreach, rejection, and relentless pipeline-building, not reliant on inbound enquiries.
- Commercially literate, able to read a margin, negotiate a rate, and protect the business from underpriced contracts that look good on volume but lose money.
Compensation Structure
This role is structured to be the most lucrative position in the business for the right person. We are deliberately weighting reward toward commission because we want someone whose income is directly tied to contracts won, not hours worked.
- Basic salary: £26,000 – £40,000 depending on experience.
- Commission: 4–6% of the contract value on every new contract signed, paid as the contract bills.
- Override commission: additional 1–2% on subcontract relationships that convert into direct client contracts within 18 months.
- On-target earnings: realistically £60,000 – £100,000+ in year one for a candidate who delivers against the profile above; uncapped beyond that.
Why This Role Is Different
You are joining at the build phase, not inheriting a tired patch. The contracts you win in your first six months define the shape of this division. Every relationship you bring through the door becomes part of the foundation, and your commission reflects that, early wins compound because the subcontract relationships you open now should still be paying out as they convert to direct business later.
How to Apply
Send your CV along with a short note on the contracts or relationships you'd bring with you on day one. We are not looking for a generic sales background, tell us specifically who you know and what you've won. Email us on [email protected]
