Alongside the responsibilities of a Senior Powertrain Engineer, you’ll take on Principal-level leadership to set the standard for powertrain systems engineering excellence. Your responsibilties will include some of the following:
- Define and lead the technical direction for ICE and powertrain systems development, from concept and architecture through control, testing and optimisation.
- Establish and maintain engineering standards, development processes, simulation tools and documentation to deliver high-performance powertrain solutions.
- Provide technical leadership across engine and powertrain development, including calibration, controls, testing, data analysis and fault diagnosis.
- Act as the organisation's powertrain subject matter expert, shaping long-term engineering strategy and driving technical excellence.
- Identify and implement emerging technologies and innovative methodologies to maintain a competitive advantage in powertrain development.
- Deliver remote race support, providing rapid diagnostics and technical solutions during testing and race events.
- Collaborate with technical leaders, project teams and stakeholders to align engineering activities with business, project and customer objectives.
- Manage powertrain engineering activities, ensuring effective planning, resource allocation, budgets and on-time project delivery.
- Mentor and develop engineering talent, building technical capability and fostering a culture of continuous learning.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the performance, efficiency, reliability, scalability and sustainability of powertrain development.

What We're Looking For
- Degree in Engineering or equivalent, with extensive experience in motorsport or high-performance automotive powertrain engineering.
- Hands-on experience in engine and powertrain development, race engineering, or performance engine applications within FIA, WEC, GT3, Formula, or OEM motorsport environments.
- Strong understanding of combustion engine design, thermodynamics, combustion control, and performance optimisation.
- Expert knowledge of powertrain calibration, controls, performance, and reliability engineering in a competitive development environment.
- Proficiency with industry-standard engineering tools such as GT-Power, Ricardo WAVE, MATLAB/Simulink, INCA, CANalyser, Pi Toolbox, and 1D simulation/modelling software.
