Job Overview
We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Night Transport Support Operator to join our team on a permanent, full-time basis. In this role, you will assist the transport planning team with live vehicle tracking, driver administration and daily operations.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Driver Dispatch & Debrief: Manage the outbound dispatch of drivers. Ensure they are issued accurate paperwork and possess a clear, comprehensive understanding of their delivery and collection instructions.
- Live Fleet Tracking: Actively monitor vehicle progress throughout all stages of their journeys using our internal tracking software, transport systems, and direct telephone contact.
- Issue Escalation: Proactively identify and escalate any transit delays, vehicle issues, or unexpected roadblocks that could potentially impact delivery performance.
- Driver & Planner Liaison: Act as the central communication link between the planning team and the drivers to smoothly resolve live operational issues.
- Shift Handover & Team Alignment: Run a detailed shift handover with the incoming day team to ensure all live issues, fleet updates, and tasks are transitioned correctly.

- IT Literacy: You need to be comfortable using computers. We look for good basic skills with emails (Gmail), spreadsheets (Excel), general web applications, and a willingness to learn how to use our vehicle tracking systems.
- Autonomy: You will need to be able to manage your own workload, prioritise tasks, and work independently with minimal supervision overnight.
- Skills & Resilience: You should have great communication skills, a sharp eye for detail, and the ability to stay calm and accurate when things get busy overnight.
