JOB TITLE: Heritage Warden Supervisor

PAY RATE: £16.42
SHIFT PATTERN: 5 days on, 2 off, 5 nights on, 3 off
THE ROLE:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Heritage Warden Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of our heritage site. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing staff, ensuring exceptional guest services, and maintaining the integrity of the site’s cultural and historical significance. This role offers an opportunity to lead a team in a dynamic environment, promoting educational and cultural engagement for visitors. The Heritage Warden Supervisor will play a vital part in delivering memorable experiences while safeguarding our heritage assets.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise the control room ensuring that all staff carry out their duties according to the assignment and post instructions.
- Responsible for ensuring that staffing levels are met (and not exceeded) according to the contract requirements.
- Take ownership, responsibility and accountability of all daily operations, and to support the Heritage Warden Manager in the smooth running of the contract.
- To manage, motivate and develop the on-site team to achieve the best possible performance and levels of service.
- To have a thorough knowledge of routine and emergency procedures and be able to respond efficiently and appropriately to any eventuality.
- To provide the highest level of customer service, ensuring that all persons either visiting or working at the site are treated courteously and professionally at all times.
- To effectively manage site manning and rosters in order to comply with the contracted hours and ad hoc requests.
- Effectively oversee all CCTV monitoring and related tasks, in-line with SOPs.
- To respond and manage all incidents and follow escalation procedures.
- Communicate with operational staff concerning incidents, ensuring that all information escalation routines are observed.
- Overseeing and operating the landlord fire system correctly, while also ensuring all other officers are sufficiently trained and capable of using the system without fault.
- Correctly manage the Security operation, email account inbox, CCTV and telephones at all times, responding promptly and appropriately to requests and duties.
- Management of site Access Control System, including oversight of alarm response, adding of access to passes, issuing of new staff passes and responsibility for termination and deletion of Security access passes in line with the site Joiner, Mover and Leaver process
- Constantly strive for continuous improvement whilst assisting the Heritage Warden Manager to deliver against Strategic Objectives.
- Provide the highest standards of written reports.
- To Manage direct reports holiday in line with company policy, ensuring all leave is booked and covered.
- Ensuring all Heritage Wardens are conducting the correct patrols/breaks at the correct, designated times.
- To deliver on site training to their team to ensure they are fully conversant in their job roles.
- Inspect equipment for failures and faults. Maintain accurate records and logs of all/any events.
- Ensure Heritage Wardens complete accurate records and logs of the highest standards.
- To be responsible for the administration, issue and return of all keys and radio communication equipment.
- Comply with Amulet policies and procedures advising the Heritage warden Manager on any failures to comply and ensure the correct action is taken to resolve such issues.
- To act as an ambassador to the client organisation ensuring that their business is represented in the highest manner in all the duties undertaken by you, and by the team.
- Facilitate the delivery of a range of events including filming, photo shoots, rallies, demonstrations and cultural events.
- Protect the fabric of the squares and prevent malicious damage to them.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working in a fast-paced security supervisory/management role.
- Experience of managing CCTV, Fire and Access Control Systems.
- Excellent communication skills to include the ability to compile reports.
- Excellent IT skills with the ability to work competently in multiple system applications.
- Customer service experience, Leadership skills/experience or a willingness to develop supervisory skills.

- You must have good organisational and record-keeping skills, be well-presented at all times.
- You must be physically fit as this is a demanding role as most of your duties will take place outdoors.
Job Requirements:
You must be able to provide a check-able 5-year employment history for vetting purposes (this can include full-time education or periods in receipt of benefits).
