Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Estimator to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for accurately assessing project costs, preparing detailed estimates, and liaising with the Commercial team and Subcontractors to ensure a smooth and efficient tender process, delivering competitive and commercially viable submissions. Your expertise will help drive efficient bidding processes, and contribute to the overall success of our projects. Responsibilities
- Review project plans, specifications, and technical documents to develop comprehensive cost estimates.
- Lead the preparation pf detailed bid proposals that clearly outline scope, costs, and timelines for clients and internal stakeholders.
- Obtain supplier quotes, be up to date with industry rates and standards to ensure competitive and realistic estimates.
- Maintain organised records of all estimates, revisions, and supporting documentation for future reference.
- Communicate effectively with clients, vendors, and project teams to clarify scope details and resolve discrepancies, during the tender process.
Requirements
- Proven experience in estimating within the construction industry.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately.
- Knowledge in estimating software tools and strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Exceptional attention to detail combined with effective time management skills to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work collaboratively within an office environment while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Assist in value engineering efforts by identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or safety.
- Provide accurate take-offs.
