Primary duties will be:
1. Preparation of aluminium extrusions and other metal components for finishing. This includes initial QC checks on production pieces, following by surface clean up, using scotchbrite, panel wipes and gun cleaner.
2. To become the primary wet spray finisher for specialist finishes. Wet spraying is currently a minor element of the business.
3. To become a secondary trained resource for powder coating, providing cover for sickness, holidays etc. Powder coating is currently the major finishing element of the business.
4. To assume responsibility for putting away of stock deliveries.
5. To assist with moving of carrier cages for daily shipments.
6. To become a multi-skilled operative, capable of deploying wherever demand requires.
7. To produce goods to a consistently high standard.
8. To produce goods in a timely manner, meeting or exceeding dates indicated on works orders.
9. To ensure quality through vigilant reporting to supervisor/manager any items falling below standard.
10. To use initiative to maintain housekeeping standards.
11. To report any health & safety issues identified to supervisor/manager.
12. To follow all health & safety guidelines and training. PPE will be provided and must be worn.
13. To use initiative to suggest/produce improvements in product quality or processes to improve productivity and quality.
Skills & Experience
Panel spraying experience would be very desirable, but is not essential, as full training will be provided in all tasks. Interest in learning new skills and general aptitude for manufacturing processes required.
The successful applicant must be conscientious, a good team member and display enthusiasm, positive attitude and willingness to learn. Confidence using a spray gun and attention to detail essential.
