Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Groundworks Finishing Gang to join our construction team. The successful candidates will be responsible for completing groundworks tasks with precision and efficiency, ensuring high standards of safety and quality. Responsibilities
- Execute groundworks finishing tasks such as levelling, paving, kerbing, and surfacing to specified standards.
- Operate relevant machinery and tools safely and effectively.
- Maintain clear communication with site supervisors and team members to ensure smooth workflow.
- Manage site materials, equipment, and resources efficiently to minimise waste and maximise productivity.
- Conduct routine maintenance checks on tools and machinery, reporting any issues promptly.
- Assist in managing the organisation of work schedules and task allocations within the gang.
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations, including proper use of PPE.
- Support in site housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
Experience
- Proven experience in groundworks or civil engineering finishing works is preferred.
- Demonstrable management skills for supervising small teams or tasks is advantageous.
- Knowledge of maintenance procedures for tools and machinery used in groundworks activities.
- Valid driving licence is desirable for transporting equipment or materials between sites.
- Excellent communication skills are essential for liaising effectively with colleagues and supervisors.
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Prior experience working on construction sites with adherence to safety protocols is highly valued.
