Job Summary
As a Kitchen & Customer Service Assistant, you'll play an important role in the day-to-day operation of our Production Hub. You'll prepare and serve food, maintain excellent food safety standards, provide outstanding customer service and help ensure every customer receives a consistent, high-quality experience.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working as part of a team, follows procedures carefully and takes pride in delivering great food and excellent service.
Key Responsibilities
- Cook pre-marinated food using approved cooking equipment and company procedures.
- Prepare side dishes such as plantain and dumplings.
- Safely reheat food and maintain correct holding temperatures.
- Probe and record food temperatures in accordance with food safety procedures.
- Portion and package customer orders accurately.
- Welcome customers and provide friendly, professional customer service.
- Take customer orders and process cash and card payments using the till system.
- Assist with takeaway collections, deliveries and catering orders.
- Maintain a clean, organised and hygienic working environment.
- Complete opening, closing and cleaning procedures.
- Follow all TOJO'S Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Food Safety requirements.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure efficient service during busy periods.

Essential Experience
Applicants should be able to demonstrate practical cooking experience and confidence preparing meals from start to finish, whether gained through previous employment, catering, hospitality, culinary training or substantial home cooking.
Desirable Experience
- Experience working in a commercial kitchen, takeaway, café or restaurant.
- Experience in a customer-facing role.
- Experience handling food safely.
- Experience working in a fast-paced hospitality or catering environment.
- Knowledge of Jamaican and/or Nigerian cuisine.
Working Hours
- Permanent, part-time position.
- Typical hours: 10–20 hours per week.
- Shift patterns between 10am-10pm.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends is essential.
- Additional hours may be available during busy periods, catering events and pop-up trading.
