Hours: 8.30am-2.30pm (can be flexible to school hours)
This role offers 3 permanent days per week (including some weekend work). However, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to take on regular additional hours as part of the Ancillary team, providing cover for annual leave and sickness across the cleaning, kitchen, and laundry areas of the home.

DOMESTIC ASSISTANT

POSITION: DOMESTIC ASSISTANT
RESPONSIBLE TO: CARE MANAGER
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
- To ensure the clean and hygienic maintenance of the home
- To maintain a high standard of appearance and to contribute to the quality of our Residents lives
- To monitor equipment and identify and report any defects in line with the Homes policy
- To respect Residents personal belongings and privacy and dignity
- To adopt good health and safety practices in line with the Homes policies
- To adopt good infection control practices in line with the Homes policies
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To clean all allocated rooms / areas within the Home including furniture, fittings, fabric, carpets and equipment in line with planned cleaning schedules.
- To practice and promote good infection control techniques and to have an awareness and comply with, all related policies and procedures.
- To be aware of the Homes Health and Safety procedures and to comply with all relevant legislation.
- To have an awareness of the risk assessment process, to read and understand COSHH risk assessments and moving and handling risk assessments.
- To clean sanitary equipment with particular attention to guidelines for managing the spread of infection and infestation.
- To report malfunctioning or defective equipment to senior staff.
- To report the malfunctioning of defective fittings or fixtures that require maintenance or cannot be maintained through normal cleaning procedures.
- To be aware of and comply with the Homes policy on the disposal of clinical waste.
- To complete relevant domestic cleaning records as agreed with the Homes Manager.
- To attend staff meetings, supervision and appraisals as agreed with the Homes Manager.
PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
To arrive punctually and adhere to the Homes clocking in procedures.
To observe good personal hygiene and personal appearance in order to positively promote the Home.
To be aware of your personal conduct on or off duty thus reflecting the high standards of the Home.

TRAINING
You will be required to carry out mandatory training within a certain time scale. Below is a list of all training that you will be expected to do and the time scale you are asked to do it in.
