About Us
Jonsigns Limited is a long-established sign fabrication and installation company based in Gateshead, with nearly 30 years of trading history. Operating from a 55,000 sq ft facility, we design, manufacture and install bespoke signage, architectural metalwork and graphics for clients across the UK. We also operate HJC Specialist Coatings, our powder coating division.
The Role
We’re looking for an experienced Estimator to join our Estimating team, working closely with Sales, Design and Production to price signage, fabrication, installation and powder coating projects accurately and competitively. You’ll play a key role in job costing, quoting, and supporting the commercial decision-making that keeps our business profitable and our clients happy.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare accurate, detailed cost estimates for signage manufacture, installation and powder coating projects
Use Clarity (Touch Systems) to build and manage quotes and job costings
Liaise with Sales, Design, Production and Project Management to gather specification detail
Track and manage estimating workload using Trello
Analyse job specifications, drawings and site information to produce competitive, profitable pricing
Maintain accurate historical cost data to support ongoing pricing accuracy
Support the wider Estimating team and contribute to process improvement
What We’re Looking For
Experience in an estimating role, ideally within signage, print, fabrication, construction or a related manufacturing environment
Strong numeracy and attention to detail
Confident using job management software (Clarity experience an advantage but not essential — full training given)
Ability to read technical drawings and specifications
Good communication skills and the ability to work across departments
Well organised, able to manage multiple live quotes at once
What We Offer
£40,000 per annum, paid monthly
28 days holiday including bank holidays, rising by 1 additional day per year of service (capped at 5 years — 33 days maximum)
