MET Technician/Mechanic – Bodyshop
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented MET Technician / Mechanic to join our busy and growing bodyshop team.
This role would suit an experienced MET Technician or a qualified Vehicle Mechanic/Technician who is looking to transition into the accident repair and body repair industry.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the efficient removal, repair, and refitting of mechanical, electrical, and trim (MET) components on damaged vehicles, ensuring all work supports a high-quality accident repair process and meets manufacturer standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Remove and refit mechanical, electrical, and trim components on a wide range of vehicles
- Diagnose and identify faults related to accident damage
- Carry out repairs in line with manufacturer specifications and safety standards
- Work closely with panel technicians and paint technicians to ensure smooth workflow
- Support strip and rebuild processes to ensure efficient vehicle turnaround
- Ensure all work is completed to the highest standard within agreed timescales
- Follow health and safety procedures at all times
- Maintain accurate records of work carried out
Requirements:
- Experience as an MET Technician or a qualified Vehicle Mechanic/Technician
- Strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic skills
- A keen interest in accident repair and body repair processes
- Ability to work efficiently while maintaining attention to detail
- ATA accreditation (preferred but not essential)
- Full UK driving licence
