Beckenham Building Supplies Ltd is a well-established, family-run builders merchant looking to recruit a reliable and hardworking 3.5 Tonne Van / Flatbed Driver to join our team.
We are seeking a responsible team player who takes pride in their work and provides excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Delivering and collecting building materials to and from customers and suppliers.
- Ensuring all deliveries are completed safely, efficiently, and on time.
- Carrying out daily vehicle inspections and reporting any defects promptly.
- Loading and unloading materials, including manual handling of heavy items where required.
- Checking delivery notes and ensuring accurate paperwork is completed.
- Maintaining the cleanliness and roadworthiness of the vehicle.
- Providing a professional and courteous service to customers.
- Assisting in the yard and warehouse when required.
Essential Requirements
- Full UK Driving Licence with a clean driving record.
- Previous experience driving a 3.5 tonne van or flatbed vehicle.
- Good knowledge of road safety and vehicle checks.
- Physically fit and capable of manual handling.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
Desirable
- Knowledge of building materials and the builders’ merchant trade.
- Experience working within the construction or building supplies industry.
